This marks the fourth 1st prize that our school has won, showcasing the exceptional talent and dedication of our students.
A-level student George Nikolaidis won 1st Prize in the 2nd International Essay Competition, which was organized by the Institute of Greek Language (URC TEMENUS) of the University of Western Macedonia, in collaboration with the Istituto Ellenico di Cultura in Milan and the Greek Education Office of Johannesburg. ๐ŸŒโœ๏ธ๐Ÿ†
The competition focused on the theme of Peace, and the brief was to develop the phrase by Greek poet, Yiannis Ritsos, “The child’s dream is peace, the mother’s dream is peace, the words of love under the trees are peace.” ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธโค๏ธ๐ŸŒณ
George Nikolaidis stood out with his approach to his essay, presenting an exceptional analysis on the topic of Peace. Through his eloquent writing and well-developed thoughts and sensitivity, he highlighted the need for peace in the world, emphasizing that peace should cease to be just a dream and become a reality. ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒ
George’s success reflects the invaluable role of Greek schools in highlighting and nurturing the talents of its students. It is encouraging to see young students expressing their opinions and showcasing their judgment and sensitivity through their writing. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘
